Her Pride

  • A woman is always full of herself. She carries herself with an air of importance and thinks highly of herself even when no one does. Is it because she is beautiful and wonderfully made? Her face is naturally adorned with sparkling eyes, aquiline nose that suits it, small rounded lips and a gentle smile that changes the destination of men when she walks pass.

She has a natural neckline that can't be removed nor counterfeited. Can this be the source of her pride? On her chest lies the first vital food for every man once a baby. She is not formless like the amoeba but has a definite figure eight shape, which brings out her rounded hips. She takes diverse steps, but mostly the cat-walk, paying much attention to every step taken. Could this be her pride?

Between and beyond her straight legs lies the height of her pride, the hymen. The hymen is the covering found around a young woman's reproductive organ. It remains intact until she has sex for the first time. Hence, its presence indicates her sexual purity. It shows she's untouched. Her pride is in her virginity! Unfortunately, many young girls have had their hymen prematurely pierced before marriage either in the bid to have a trial experience, to save an ungodly relationship from collapsing, to prove they truly love him or for any other pathetic, pitiable or feeble reason.

There is no genuine reason for a lady to lose her pride outside of marriage. Virginity once lost is forever lost. It's irretrievable. As a young girl, are you under pressure to betray your conscience and lose your pride? This is the right time to stand in the opposition of sin and say 'No' and to cut off when he insists you give in to prove your love for him. You will have greater worth in your marriage if you do your husband the honour to be the one to pierce your hymen. Don't trade your virginity, integrity and pride for cheap and fake love. It's not worth it!

For the sexually abused, though you may feel betrayed by nature and fate, it doesn't end there; God can wipe your tears and make you whole again. Turn to Him in prayer and He will heal your heart and restore your spirit. Regardless of the abuse, you can take pride in the fact that God loves you and has great plans for you. You are worth so much to Him!

A great piece there, safe the generalisations in the beginning as if all women have same physical looks. I also learnt there is secondary virginity. So would have loved to have it reflect where victims of rape are mentioned.
